KOCHI MUZIRIS BIENNALE

Kochi Muziris Biennale celebrates Kochi's multiculturalism and is unique in the case that it opens up a discussion space to politics, society and contemporary art. It is India's first ever biennale which is held every two years in Kochi. Unlike any other biennale in the word, the Kochi Muziris Biennale has attracted the general public and hence it is called as the people's biennale.  Set across the venues in and around Kochi, Muziris and other surrounding islands, the Kochi Muziris Biennale exhibits artworks of the artists around the world. Every two years on December 12, the biennale kick starts and continues for three to four months. The biennale celebrates the ancient history and the colonial past of Kochi.
